Terry Maxine was born in 1954 to Mack Lee Henry and Bertha McGriff, she was oldest of four children Jacquline, Thomas, and Barbara that were born of this union. Terry was raised in Washington, DC along with three older siblings Isaac, Gregory, and Robert Parker. Terry attended public schools in D.C., then pursued nursing courses and worked as a home health aide due to her compassion for people. When Terry wasn’t taking care of people in their homes, she took care of people in her home. Having experienced homelessness, Terry always provided people with a place to stay, even if just a blanket and a spot on the floor. She loved cooking for her family and possessed the ability to transform any ingredients into a Thanksgiving feast, ensuring that everyone had something to eat. Terry looked after everyone's children while they worked, treating them as her own. On Fridays, it was known that Terry would be listening to music and playing cards. She valued family gatherings and hosted dinners for relatives every Sunday. A kind heart who loved and accepted everyone, one who gave of herself while ignoring her own needs. Terry was a force and to be in her presence was to know that you were loved. Terry is survived by her son, Anthony Lee, her daughters, Lakeisha Nichole and Shannon Michelle, one brother, Thamas Lee, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a great number of nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances to cherish the memories of being in her company.
