Shawn Braswell

Shawn Braswell was born on January 20, 1971 to Vinston Braswell and the late Mildred Dolby in Raleigh, NC.  He entered eternal life on Sunday, June 21, 2020, with his family by his side.

Shawn was educated in the Wake County school system and graduated from Broughton High School in 1989.  He spent his early career working as a barber with his father and brother.  He later became a real estate appraiser, and most recently was the owner and operator of a transportation business.    

Shawn enjoyed life to the fullest.  He was known to be very personable, have a great sense of humor, and loved to have a good time.  In his free time, Shawn enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and playing video games with his son, Aidan.  He loved his family immensely and was extremely proud of his four children.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  

Shawn is survived by his wife of 13 years, Chanda Archer Braswell of the home, four children, Aiyana Braswell of Houston, TX, Christopher Cherry of San Diego, CA, Shaynna Braswell of Houston, TX, and Aidan Braswell of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by his father, Vinston Braswell of Durham, NC, two siblings, Varon Braswell (Lisa) of Wake Forest, NC, and Venita Walden of Wake Forest, NC, as well as his grandmother, Cora Hunter (Wilbert) of Raleigh, NC, five aunts, four uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Dolby and his grandfather, William Thomas.

Private Funeral Service for family:  1:00 PM, Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Lea Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC.

Interment:  Carolina Biblical Gardens, Garner, NC.
