Shaun Gill Jenkins was born on September 13, 1980, at 12:03 AM, in Raleigh, North Carolina to Sherman Jenkins and Carolyn Terrell Jenkins Alston. Although he was born just 12 minutes after his twin sister, Chantel, that was just enough time to insure that he would not have to share his birthday with his twin. This same spirit of steadfast independence would continue throughout his life.
Shaun was primarily raised by his grandmother, Lillie Mae Jenkins. He attended Wake County Schools and was active in the Chess Club, school band (where he played tuba), and Air Force ROTC. He graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh in 1998. He also completed additional classes at Wake Technical Community College.
Always a dedicated worker, Shaun was employed by American Airlines for the last nine years. He began his career as a reservation agent and advanced to become a Customer Service Agent Supervisor. He loved his American Airlines family and they loved him back. Prior to American Airlines, he was employed by Samsung at Best Buy stores which inspired his love of technical gadgets
In November of 2014, Shaun embraced the role of father with the birth of Shemar Gill Jenkins, followed closely by Theia TLC Jenkins, and Michael Angelo Jenkins. He was a devoted, loving, and active father who valued education and travel adventures for the children.
Shaun departed this life in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, June 20, 2025, as the result of a tragic motorcycle accident as he traveled home from work. His passing leaves a place that can never filled in the hearts of those who love him.
In addition to his parents, Carolyn Terrell-Alston of Charlotte, NC, and Sherman Gill Jenkins of Raleigh, NC, and children, Shemar, Theia, and Michael, Shaun is survived by two sisters, Chantel Jenkins and husband Philip Quartey of Raleigh, NC, and Felicia Lindsey and husband lan Lindsey of Canton, NC; one brother, Antwoine Alston of Franklinton, NC; grandmother, Bernice Terrell of Chesapeake, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
