Ralph Whitaker, USAF (Ret.), of Raleigh, NC, departed this life on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Ralph Whitaker, USAF (Ret.), entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2026, at the age of 90. He lived a life marked by service, faith, dedication, and love. During his 21 years in the United States Air Force, he served as an aircraft mechanic and rose to the distinguished position of Chief Mechanic for the aircraft used to transport the President of the United States, a role that reflected the trust, skill, and professionalism he brought to every task.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Ralph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose strength and perseverance inspired those around him. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hermia Delores Whitaker, and leaves behind his son, Ralph Whitaker III; his daughter, Vicki LaVerne Whitaker; his sister, Rosebud Reubel; his caregiver, Abraham Molina, whom he loved as a son; along with many relatives and friends who will cherish his memory. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of service, integrity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Public Viewing:  12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Lea Funeral Home, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC.

Funeral Service:  10:00 AM, Monday, June 22, 2026, at First Cosmopolitan Baptist Church, 1515 Crosslink Road, Raleigh, NC.

Visitation:  9:30 AM - 10:00 AM, preceding the service at the Church.  

Interment:  Carolina Biblical Gardens, Garner, NC.
