Mrs. Ella Mae Taylor was born to the late Cleveland and Carrie (Hinton) Mials in Shotwell, NC. on October 15,1928. She was the eldest of 5 children. Ella Mae confessed Christ at an early age. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church before becoming a devoted Christian of The Upper Room Church of God in Christ until her passing where she served as one of the Mothers.
Ella graduated from Booker T. High School, Norfolk, VA. She attended Crestwood Nursing School in Norfolk, VA. which started her career in nursing until she retired from Wake Medical in 1984.
Ella was preceded in death by her devoted husband Elder Jesse Taylor of 44 years, and 4 four brothers: Otis, Sylvester, George and Leroy Mials.
Ella leaves to cherish her memories her 2 loving children, Ella Lee (Charles) Smith, Raleigh, NC. and J. Wesley (Rosia) Taylor, Stone Mountain, GA.; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Public Viewing: 2:00PM-7:00PM, Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Lea Funeral Home, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC
Funeral Service: 12:00 PM, Friday, April 4, 2025, at Upper Room COGIC, 3300 Idlewood Village Drive, Raleigh, NC.
Visitation: 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM, preceding the service at the Church.
Interment: Carolina Biblical Gardens, Garner, NC.
