Maryann was born and raised in Clarksville, Virginia. She was the second born child of the late Dorothy Small and Walter Moody. She is survived by her siblings, Walter Moody Jr., Bertha Byerson, Laura Moody-Samuels and Cecelia Moody. Her children, Donnie Burke, Jason Moody, Harmony Holiday, & Iyesha Kyer (Joseph). Her grandchildren, Ivy & Devin De Pass Ashton Balzarini, Libbyana Brown Alivia Kyer, Alijah Kyer & Haven Holiday. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.

When Maryann was a child, her family relocated to NYC. Maryann went on to blossom into a beautiful woman. She became an accountant and did this job effortlessly for 20+ years. During this time, she also relocated to Randolph, MA. She was an active member of the community for over 20 years. While raising her children, her house became the ever revolving door. Lovingly known to the neighborhood kids as "Ma." She would always lend a listening ear or a comforting plate. She loved to volunteer her time reaching out and helping youth in the community. She then became the Assistant Director at Randolph Recreation. She rebranded Randolph Automation, the color guard program for the town of Randolph and became a coach for the program even after working long days. After the birth of her  grandchildren, Maryann moved to North Carolina. Here she had hoped to reconnect with her roots and take a slower approach to life.

Memorial Service:  3:00 PM, Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Lea Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC.
