Joyce Elaine Patton was born on July 10, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to Herschel Richey and Leona Alberta Jones Richey. Joyce was the first of 3 children, Janet Hollis of Southfield, MI and Leon Marshall Richey (deceased) Detroit, MI.
Joyce attended Northern High School (member of the Del Sprites) and Wayne State University. Her early church affiliations were Saint Matthews Episcopal where she was a member of the Girls Friendly Society and Grace Episcopal Church in Detroit, MI.
Joyce married Reuben J. Patton II (deceased) September 15, 1978. They loved to travel and entertain family and friends. They both loved dogs and raised competition Bull Terrier show dogs and won numerous awards.
She worked at AT&T (retired after 33 years) and Kelly Services (retired after 10 years).
Joyce was one of the founding members and active participant in the Tallies Bridge Club, Movie Coordinator for the TROON Community, and Birthday Club Member.
She is survived by her sister Janet Hollis of Southfield, MI. Her devoted son Michael A. Sims (Joyce) of Apex, NC. Grandson, Michael A. Sims Jr., London, England and granddaughter, Kira N. Sims, Bloomington, IN.
Nephews, Nieces and friends that will all cherish her memory.

Joyce will be buried next to her husband in The Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack, New Jersey.
