Grace May Wilcox of Zebulon, NC was born to the late Robert Williams Jr. & Rose F. Williams on December 24, 1944. She departed this earthly life on November 8, 2023.
Grace was preceded in death by her loving husband, George H. Wilcox Jr. who was also her best friend, protector, and love of her life, as well as her brother Robert Willams III.
Grace is survived by her children; Rose Staley (Kenneth) of East Providence, RI, Jacqueline McGehee (Kevin) of Douglasville, GA, Jeanette Lauer (John) of Glenn Carbon, IL, George H. Wilcox III (Mayra), and Dale Wilcox, both of Zebulon, NC, and sisters Mary Ann Watkins and Nancy Philips both of Providence, RI; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews & a host of relatives and friends.
Grace was born and raised in Providence, RI where she spent the majority of her life. Grace was called to serve, and she diligently answered that call. She had a heart to serve her community and loved to help the less fortunate. She gave her all to make sure that her community was fed, warm, and clothed. If something was beyond her scope, she would exhaust all resources to make sure that person was taken care of.
Grace served as the Community Service Coordinator at South Providence Neighborhood Ministries for over 20 years and was honored with numerous awards for her dedication to her community.
Grace’s presence and heart will be greatly missed.
