Gail was born in White Plains, NY on December 26th, 1949 to Eugene John and Margaret (née O’Donnell) Varvaro. As one of six girls Gail valued close connections, working together, and loving her family unconditionally.
Gail lived a full life in which she dedicated herself to helping others through herimpressive nursing career starting at the age of 17, making everyone she came into contact with feel special. After receiving her RN degree from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing, New York, NY, she worked in several hospitals in the greater metropolitan area. She started her family with two unique, smart, and independent daughters in White Plains, NY. While raising her two daughters she also cared for her mom and dad as they got older. Gail was proud to have the opportunity and knowledge needed to care for her family. While working as a nurse she continued her education receiving her Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s in Public Health Administration from Pace University. As soon as her first granddaughter was born Gail packed up her car and drovestraight to Cary, North Carolina where she resumed her medical career while doting on her grandchildren.
Gail had a special appreciation for academics, the arts, new adventures, and of course, spending time with her family. Whether you knew her as a sister, mom, friend, or grandma, know that she passed peacefully with all of you in her heart. All of whom got the opportunity to connect with her bright, strong, and determined soul know how special it was to experience life with her.
