Elder Robert L. Foster

Elder Robert Lamont Foster was born in New York, NY on October 27, 1961, after which he was placed in the foster care system. He remained under the care of the late Elder Eugene Folds and his wife, Sis. Edna Mae Folds until adulthood. 

Robert was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost as a teen at the Greater Bibleway Temple in Brooklyn, NY. He was united in holy matrimony to Valerie James on September 6, 1986. From this union, one daughter, Shekinah Ronique was born. Shekinah and his grandson, Jeremiah remain members of the Greater Bibleway Temple.

In the early 1990’s, Elder Foster pastored a small church for a few years in Freeport, New York, after which he relocated to Raleigh, NC. In 1999, he became a member of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ (COGIC). He was the assistant for the Ministers in Training Program and taught doctrine at the Church of God in Christ Academy of North Carolina Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

Elder Foster was predeceased by his biological mother, Margueritte Foster, his foster parents, Elder Eugene Folds, and Sister Edna Mae Folds, his foster brother, Murray Johnson, and his foster sister, Dianna Lindsey. 

He leaves to mourn his daughter Shekinah Ronique Foster and grandson Jeremiah Nasir Dinkins of Brooklyn, NY; his biological brother, Juel Foster (Gloria) of Blythewood, SC, sisters, Joan Priscilla Folds and Daymicha Folds of NY, nephew, Michael Christopher Lindsey of CA; niece, Juel T. Foster of MD, and one aunt, Mrs. Edie Folds of NY.

Elder Foster age 63 departed this life on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at his home. 

Memorial Service:  3:00 PM, Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Lea Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC.
