Doris O. Moore

Doris O. Moore, 67 of 479 Tobacco Road, Willow Spring, NC passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.  Doris was born on July 18, 1951 in Scotland Neck, NC, she was the first born daughter of the late Fred R. Moore, Sr. and Ann Dora Smith-Moore.  Doris attended and graduated from Ligon Senior High School in Raleigh, NC in 1971. She relocated to Long Island, NY and spent the next 30 years of her adult life working for Hollywood Advertising. Doris was forced into early retirement due to illness and returned to her hometown in 1994 to be closer to her family.

Doris has always loved children and became a caregiver to many family and neighborhood children she called her own, and her home in Knightdale, NC was open to all.

Doris is preceded in death by her father, Fred R. Moore, Sr, her mother, Ann Dora Smith-Moore, her brothers, Dennis James Moore and Fred R. Moore, Jr and her sister, Lois Ann Moore-Molina.

Ophelia leaves to cherish and mourn her passing, three sisters, Alice Moore and Lynn Moore, both of Dunn, NC, and Cassandra M. Jacobs (Everette) of WA; two brothers, Donald I. Jacobs and William Moore, a brother-in-law, Abe Molina, all of Raleigh, NC; one niece , one great-niece, three nephews, a host of very special family and friends.

Our family would like to take this time to thank anybody and everybody who has shown Ophelia, their support and acts of kindness during this difficult time.  The Moore family will hold a memorial service for Doris Ophelia Moore at a later date.
