Dominique Nicole Morris was born on October 13, 1987, to Darius Morris and Debora Hargrove Morris. She came into the world with a ready-made best friend—her brother, Darius Jr., also known as DJ. Dominique was a happy, vibrant child who always enjoyed being with her family and friends. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, experience new places, and taste different foods. No matter where she went, she brought joy and laughter, lighting up every room she entered.

Dominique attended Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School and graduated from the Adult High School Program at Wake Technical Community College. She also attended culinary school, and with her training—combined with what she learned from her mother—she became an excellent cook! Her oxtails would make you slap your mama!

Dominique loved being a mom to her son, Demetrious Jr., whom she affectionately called "Fat Boy"—and no one could say that name like Dom. She also loved her bonus daughter, Aaniya, like she was her own and co-parented seamlessly with Aaniya's parents, helping to give her the blessing of having four loving parents.

She cherished her family, both biological and those she gained through her fiancé. She enjoyed entertaining, attending events together, and hosting family gatherings—even if she was always the last one to arrive.

Dominique’s circle was wide and varied. If she had her way, she would want every single person in this room to be named in this obituary. She loved each of her titles: mom, fiancée, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, auntie, and friend. She had a special relationship with so many people—that was just the way she was.

Dominique was preceded in death by her mother, Debora Hargrove Morris, and her maternal grandfather, Willie Hargrove.

She is survived by her parents, Darius and Teretha Bell Morris of Raleigh; her fiancé, Demetrious Finch of Raleigh; her son, Demetrious Finch of Raleigh; and her bonus daughter, Aaniya Herndon (Shay Williams & Mia Sloan) of Benson, NC. She also leaves behind two brothers, Darius Morris Jr. (Jasmine) of Houston, TX, and Bryan Prioleau (April) of Kernersville, NC; one sister, Jasmyn Prioleau of Raleigh; two grandmothers, Fannie Morris of Knightdale, NC, and Mary C. Hargrove of Henderson, NC; and her grandfather, Albert Morris of Wendell, NC.

She is also survived by two aunts, Dianthia Ford-Kee (Preston) of Wendell, NC, and Regina Hargrove Revils of Chesapeake, VA; three uncles, Jeffrey Morris (Sondra) of Zebulon, NC, Willie Hargrove Jr. of Henderson, NC, and Soloman Revels of Chesapeake, VA; her extended Finch family, including a father-in-love, Robert Finch Sr., two brothers-in-love, Robert Finch Jr. and Lamar Finch, and three sisters-in-love, Shalaina Finch, Kira Ramroop, and Kayla Finch, all of Raleigh. 

Additionally, she leaves behind ten nieces, three nephews, her very special friend Jaleesa Hill, and her godmother, Kasual Kelly, along with a host of beloved cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Public Viewing:  1:00PM-6:00PM, Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Lea Funeral Home, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC

Funeral Service:  12:00 PM, Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Lea Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC.  

Visitation:  11:30 AM - 12:00 PM, preceding the service in the chapel.
