Deborah Dianne Thorb, age 71, passed away peacefully transitioned at Wake Medical Hospital on Sunday morning September 29th, 2024. Born April 2, 1953 Deborah Diane Mitchell in Clarkston, NC. She attended Hallsboro High School where she earned her high school diploma. She married Earnest Thorb Sr. in 1972 and they have been blessed with over 53 years of marital commitment. Her life’s work was being a stay at home mother, grandmother, and caregiver to both young and old. She had a deep love of cooking, eating soul food, and spending time with her grandkids which were her pride and joy.

Deborah’s bold and sassy persona, included a love of travel, and her willingness to try new things for the sake of those she loved made her a favorite traveling companion. Her sweet tooth, sense of humor, and friendly nature ensured she never met a stranger and people naturally gravitated to her.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Earnest Thorb Sr, her son Earnest Thorb Jr., daughters Teresa Thorb and Stephanie Brock (Stewart) as well as grandchildren, Quasia, Quintin, Jeremiah, Heavenly, Stryker and Steady. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family.

Deborah will be missed. Her love, strength, and resourcefulness will live on through her family forever.

Public Viewing: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Lea Funeral Home, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC.

Funeral Service:  12:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Lea Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC.

Visitation: 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM, preceding the service at the Chapel.
