Anthony Kevin Hunter, born on December 6, 1963, to Preston and Peggy Hunter in Raleigh, North Carolina, led a life marked by determination and compassion. Growing up as the only child for several years, he later welcomed his brother Chris and sister Trina into the family. Anthony's formative years were shaped by his education in Raleigh's elementary and high schools. After completing his education at NC Central University, Anthony, driven by a sense of purpose, left his hometown to pursue a career in law enforcement in Atlanta, Georgia.
This decision set the stage for a multifaceted career dedicated to service and entrepreneurship, reflecting his unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the world. Raised with a strong sense of family, Anthony crossed paths with Dwyanna Carr in Atlanta in 1989, and their connection blossomed into a loving marriage on August 21, 1993. Anthony, with his loving and inclusive nature, embraced Dwyanna's beloved daughter, LaToya, as his own, forming a blended family that radiated love and support. They went on to have their only son together, Trey, on October 2, 1995, expanding the family and filling their lives with joy.
Known for his entrepreneurial spirit, Anthony founded Pyramid Promotions and SkyTech Wireless, contributing to the community as a track & field coach at Devereaux, leaving a lasting impact on at-risk youth. His career path took him through WakeMed and Dorothea Dix hospitals in Raleigh, to the Fulton County Sheriff Department, Brinks Armored Services, and Corporate Account Executive roles at Nextel in Atlanta.
Anthony's love for travel (especially to the beach) and his love for home-cooked meals made holidays–his favorite time of the year–particularly special. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he became an Ordained Minister and fulfilled his dream of founding Manifest Funding, LLC. Despite facing the loss of close friends like Nate Quick, Ricky Armstrong, and Deputy Sheriff Dave Colquit, as well as the passing of his younger sister Trina, his dear aunt Dianne Rowe, and beloved grandparents Maggie & Rulax Rowe, Anthony’s legacy is one of resilience, love, and a profound impact on those fortunate enough to have known him.
As we bid farewell to Anthony, we carry with us the memories of his strength, kindness, and the warmth of his laughter. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will forever live on in our hearts, a beacon of inspiration and a reminder of the enduring power of love.
