Almetta Davis of Raleigh, NC departed this life on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Almetta Virginia Wiggins Davis “Granny” was born February 3, 1935 to the late Calvin and Lynetta Wiggins. She was preceded in death by: daughter, Carolyn Jackson; granddaughter, Rhonda Jackson; great grandson, Kevin Epps; siblings, Helen Wiggins, Annie Louise Allen, Gladys McCullers, Willie Lee Vick , Rachel Wiggins, Mary Freedman, Calvin Wiggins; and special cousin Mayverta Brooks.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Children, Elijah Davis (Carrie) of Garner, NC, Michael Davis (Ursula) of Raeford, NC and Delorise Jeffries (Robert) of the home; Grandchildren, the first born Monica Jackson Epps, of Raleigh , Nidra Mason(Argentine) of Virginia., Tamika Papius (Julian) of Florida, LaKesha Terrell (Kevin) of Clayton, NC, Shenita McNealy (Chuck), of Florida, Lorenzo Covington (Jessica) of Raleigh, NC, Elijah Davis (Tonya) of Garner, NC, Darrell Davis of Raleigh, NC, Michael Scotti (Shiva) of Ohio, Lisa Lesure of Fayetteville, NC, and Calvin Davis of Germany; 31 great grand; 19 great -great grands; a host of relatives and friends.
Almetta worked for Hillhaven Convalescent Center until she retired in 1985. She dedicated her life to the Lord in 1978 and joined Providence Holy Church, where she was an active member of the senior choir. In 2005, she became a member of Mount Peace Baptist Church and was affectionately known as “Mother Davis," attending faithfully until her health prevented. She loved Pastor Terry and her church family very much. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23. She transitioned from her earthly home peacefully after a lengthy illness. Her loving memory will forever be in our hearts.

Funeral Service: 12:00 PM, Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Mt. Peace Baptist Church, 1601 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Raleigh, NC.
Visitation: 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM, preceding the service at the Church.
Interment: Carolina Biblical Gardens, Garner, NC.
