Aderemi Akintunde ADEBIMPE was born on November 1, 1951, on Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria, to the late Papa Mohammad Yahaya Adebimpe and Mama Obafunke Ayoola Adebimpe (née Abisogun).

He began his early education at Christ Church Cathedral School, Lagos, and later attended Ansar-U-Deen College, Isolo, for his secondary education. He went on to study at the School of Agriculture, Akure (in the former Ondo State), where he earned a Diploma in Agriculture, and subsequently obtained his Higher National Diploma from the School of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan.

Aderemi began his professional career at the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture, where he served as the Farm Manager at the Ikorodu Farms, overseeing the rearing of piglets and chickens for the State.

In 1978, he moved to the United States for further studies. He attended North Carolina State University (NC State), earning both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Animal Science. This marked the beginning of his long and dedicated career in the food retail industry, specifically in chain restaurants. Aderemi spent over a decade working with O’Brian’s Restaurant—a popular chain in the RDU area—where he managed several outlets. He later joined O’Charley’s, where he continued for another 10 years before retiring.

A devoted Christian and lover of hymns, Aderemi was an active member and chorister at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, Raleigh, where he worshipped faithfully for many years until his health declined.

He was a warm, homely, and loving individual, and a friend to many Nigerians who settled in Raleigh, North Carolina. His welcoming spirit and kind heart left a lasting impact on those around him.

Aderemi is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Iyabode Adebimpe, who stood lovingly and devotedly by his side until his final moments; his daughter, Adenrele, and his sons, Adedamola and Adefisayo. He is also deeply mourned by his siblings, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

Eternal rest grant him, O Lord.
