William Frederick Smith, 79, was born on August 8, 1939 in Raleigh, NC and departed this life Thursday, August 15, 2019. He was the son of George Smith and Laura Holt.
William graduated from Ligon High School in 1958. He served four years in the US Air Force. Upon completion of his military duties, he was employed by Wachovia (now Wells Fargo) where he worked for many years in the check processing operation.
Mr. Smith was a member of Martin Street Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his sister, Georgie Elizabeth Smith Graham. He leaves behind special friends, including the McEnery Family, Darlene Smith and Stacia Davenport, his caregivers at Raleigh Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Lea Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Interment: Montlawn Memorial Park.
