Lilien Moreno (Walker) Hinton

April 27, 1934 ~ September 5, 2019 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Obituary

Mrs. Lilien M. Hinton, daughter of the late John Walker and Anne Mae Walker was born April 27, 1934.  She entered into eternal rest on September 5, 2019 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.

Lilien was raised in Aiken, SC and received her education in the Aiken County Public School System.  After leaving Aiken, most of her early adult years were spent in Brooklyn, NY where she was surrounded by close family and friends.  Thereafter, Lilien established Raleigh, NC as her home and worked for Dobbs International at the Raleigh-Durham Airport for more than twenty years.  She was never one to complain about hard work and dedicated herself to service.  Lilien enjoyed entertaining friends and never turned down a good card game.  She also loved to cook and is known for her famous sweet potato pie.  She held this recipe dear to heart and only shared it with one special person, her granddaughter.

Lilien was a woman of few words but always offered anyone she encountered a smile that simply made the world around her much brighter.  She was a warm and caring person and made everyone feel special.  Lilien loved her husband, family and close friends.  Even through her declining health, she continued to hold on to her faith in God and her resilience never wavered.

She is proceeded in death by her son, Michael Moreno;  sister, Bertha Walker; and brother, Willie Walker.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, a loving husband, Ernest Hinton; a daughter from a previous marriage, Esterine Dahlstrom of Stockton CA; two bonus daughters, Earnell Stallings and Francine Stallings, both of Raleigh, NC; a bonus son, Tony Hinton of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter, Stacia L. Moreno of Hanover, MD; one great-granddaughter, Harper A. Herbert of Hanover, MD of whom she affectionately called “Hope” and a host of extended family and friends.
